One of the biggest rages right now is the use of Washi Tape. Washi Tape comes in so many decorative patterns and colors and can be used literally anywhere in your home. To make things a little more fun I decided to decorate some wooden utensils I purchased with Christmas Washi Tape and they’ll be used for my upcoming family Christmas party. The best thing about Washi Tape is it’s easy to apply and even easier to remove so it’s not a permanent which I love. My style changes as often as the weather changes so I like having the versatility to change things as I see fit. I wrapped 3 different washi tapes around my fork, knife and spoon and tied them together with twine and each guest will have their very own set. Perfect for party favors as well. This project is so easy to do and took about 10 minutes to complete, thanks so much for following along.
Supplies Needed:
Washi Tape (Any pattern/color)
Wooden Utensils (Knife, Fork and Spoon)
Twine String
Directions:
I laid out my fork, knife and spoon and decided which Washi Tape I wanted for each utensil. I chose a pretty Christmas Chevron tape for the spoon, a silver glitter washi tape for the knife and a gorgeous red dotted tape for the fork. All my tapes were purchased from Michaels this month and all cost less than $3.00!
Starting at the top of your utensils work your way down with the washi tape until you reach the bottom. I applied a little piece on the back and I twirled my utensils and the tape at the same time, overlapping until I got to the very bottom. I repeated these steps for the remaining utensils and pressed firmly down to ensure the tape was sticking well. To complete these place settings I stacked them on one another and tied up with a pretty piece of Twine to keep them together. These turned out fantastic and were so easy to make! I just know they’ll be a huge hit at my Christmas Party.
